Part 3. Special Topics

DRAFT. Part 3 provides stand-alone chapters on topics such as customizing documents such as purchase orders, product lifecycle management and engineering change orders, warehouse and inventory management, quality management, importing data and more.

  • Chapter 11. Customizing. Explains how to make basic customizations to tailor Tryton to your business. We will walk through the steps needed to add your company logo to sales and purchase orders. We will also explain how to add new fields to a sales order, and use the fields for sorting records and reporting.
  • Chapter 12. Custom Reports. Reviews basic reporting mechanisms available in Tryton and weighs the advantages and disadvantages of the various options. We then show hot to modify a report template.
  • Chapter 13. Product Lifecycle Management. The concept of change management is introduced, and specifically an Engineering Change Order process which can be used with Tryton.
  • Chapter 14. Warehouse and Inventory Management. Explains how to perform inventory counts and manage stock using multiple warehouses and locations.
  • Chapter 15. Electronic Document Management. Reviews typical electronic documents and and a process for managing them using Tryton.
  • Chapter 16. Point of Sale (POS) Terminals. Describes how to configure a dedicated point of sales terminal.
  • Chapter 17. Importing Data. Explains how to import basic master data from CSV files when implementing Tryton.
  • Chapter 18. Quality Management. Explains how to incorporate Quality Management and issue resolution into Tryton use.
  • Chapter 19. Gift Vouchers. Explains how to manage gift vouchers in the purchase and sales processes.
  • Chapter 20. Serialization. Explains how to create and manage serialized product as part of the purchasing, manufacturing and sales processes.
  • Chapter 21. Advanced Searching and Dashboards. Demonstrates how to utilize the advanced search features and configure custom dashboards in Tryton. By the end of the chapter, the reader with be able to create and save custom searches to reuse later as well as add search results to dashboards.
