Dale Scott has worked with PLM and ERP systems for over 25 years, initially capturing product designs for manufacturing as an embedded design engineer and engineering manager, and later for general enterprise management.
Dale started his engineering career designing custom integrated circuits for the first generation of mobile cellular telephones, for the first sub-decimeter commercial GPS receiver, and for pro-MI harmony synthesis products. He then progressed to product management, and has since held leadership roles in a variety of disciplines including engineering management, technical sales and customer support, and manufacturing.
As a result of his engineering work, Dale has worked with a variety of both commercial and custom PLM and ERP systems, and has participated in several ERP implementation and migration projects. Starting in 2005, Dale started exploring open source business software as a cost effective alternate to commercial proprietary software.
Dale received a B.Eng. degree with Computer Engineering specialization from the University of Victoria, and certificates in Computer Science (Business Software) and Project Management (PMI PMBOK). He is the founder and principal consultant at dalescott.net, providing services related to engineering product development, and founder of TrytonCloud.ca, a PLM and ERP web software services provider.
In his spare time, you will find Dale exploring his local urban jungle on bicycle, or exploring further afield with his wife Elizabeth.
